Planner’s Notebook: The One Thing Every Couple Should Do the Night Before
You’ve done it. The lists are ticked, the boxes are labelled, and your planner (👋 hi!) has everything under control.
Now it’s time for the only task left on your list: Stop. Doing.
Seriously. Stop fussing with the ribbons, stop triple-checking the timeline, and stop sending “just one more” text to your florist at 11pm.
Your wedding isn’t a performance, it’s a moment.
And to actually enjoy it, you need to arrive in it.
Take Ten Minutes to Arrive
I tell all my couples the same thing: the night before your wedding, carve out ten quiet minutes for yourselves.
No suppliers. No schedules. No phones.
Just you two.
If you’re together, pour a glass of champagne, light a candle, and look at each other, really look. Say, “We did it.”
If you’re apart, write each other a short note, or record a voice message to listen to in the morning.
Because it’s that pause, that single moment of grounding, that makes everything else feel effortless.
Luxury Is Knowing When to Stop
True luxury in wedding planning isn’t about more, it’s about less.
Less chaos. Less overthinking. Less checking that you’ve packed the confetti (you have).
When you rest, your morning runs smoothly, and When you’re calm, your memories last longer.
You don’t need to do more. You just need to be.
I’ve got everything else.
Planner’s Note:
Before I go to sleep on the eve of a wedding, I light a candle and write down one word for how I want my couple to feel the next day.
Because for me, wedding planning isn’t about logistics, it’s about emotion.
And my job is to protect yours.
Final Thought
So tonight, close the laptop.
Put down the scissors.
Step away from the ribbons.
You’ve done enough.
Tomorrow isn’t about tasks.
It’s about moments.
And you’re ready.
✨ I’ve got you.
